Hi,
Awork collegue has asked me if I can do some candid photo's at his wedding tomorrow, in conjunction with his official wedding photographer. He's going to speak to his man to let him know a friend will be snapping as well, and I won't try to invade his territory!
I've a 10D, and I was wondering what the generall concensus of opinion was on camera settings; Metering etc. I only have the pop-up flash at the moment, I do have an old speedlight flash, which I had with my EOS 650. But I don't know if it'll work or if it does will it be better than the in-built flash?
Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

General consensus is to run from those things.

You also need an external flash and a flash bracket as minimum requirements. Shoot raw.

Good luck

Personally I'd take a fast prime, 85 1.8 probably, and just use that. I wouldn't want to use a flash, certainly not the onboard one. Shoot high ISO and raw and I think you'd be good to go.

You post a question like that on a forum like this? OK - on your way to the camera shop start organizing your credit cards - you'll need them.

But seriously, external flash - yup, at least. Dedicated light if possible. You don't mention what your lens availability is....could be crucial.

And shoot raw which means memory. And then practice with it all before hand.

Get out of it, any way you can! But if you can't, a fast lense like formula says would be great, the 85mm 1.8. Also you will need an external flash not the built in one. When shooting raw, you need memory, so get some, you can never have too much. Make sure you have PLENTY of fresh batteries.

Try to have fun creating the images.
