Selling your motorsports shots

I am just wondering how everyone got into the business of selling their photos to media outlets or direct to drivers and teams. I just want to hear your stories and advice.

As a racer and photographer, I find most success when you frequent the forums of the local race clubs. Spend some time shooting, shoot the race, shoot the pits, shoot the people working with racers in the pits. Find the unique stuff. Everyone shoots the vehicles on the track... Show off your work on their forum, get their feedback, and if its worthy, it'll sell itself in time. Also, keep in mind, most club level racers are on a budget - so don't expect a ton of sales. Every $5 I drop on a digital copy is $5 less in tire money...
