Incredible luck, great timing, great planning, or the patience of Job! Probably at some of each. A great picture. Plenty of detail and the clear evidence of how the wings work.

Dale, yes a bit of all. I probably took 50 shots of this guy to get this one, sitting on my butt in the middle of a (mostly) dry creekbed. Thanks all for the comments.

Wow, this is a great shot. With all these dragonfly shots lately, I feel like I should try it out too!

Very impressive to keep it so sharp while tracking something so small. Well done, it looks great.

Yes. Here's the exif:
Canon EOS 20D 8/12/2005 11:17:11 AM 1/320 f 3.5 iso 100 70.0 - 200.0 mm@ 145.0 mm
It was about a 50% crop.

Very nice shot here, the darners can be some of the easier ones for in-flight but by no means easy to capture, not much here on specs like lens used, SS, ISO was this cropped or full frame those little tid bits are nice to know especially for the people thinking about trying this. Nah never mind I see where you put up the exif data, good move there on sharing that info. Congrats on the shot also!
