Good day everyone.

I bought my IXUS330 last Nov2002 and has been using my digital camera more often than my EOS500N. Ther is this rattling sound in my camera. It sounds like something is loose and hanging inside the camera. The sound is there when you slightly shake the camera, whether it's turned ON or OFF.

I have returned it for warranty repair through the camera shop I bought it from and I was told that it's not a good idea to get my camera opened up to fix the rattling sound because it is still working fine. In 4 months it has taken nearly 3000 shots and videos. I have never dropped the camera. I was also told that he had 3 other customers complaining the same problem. He said it is a 'Canon thing'.

Does anybody heard of such problems with this model? I find this camera a very good buy. I'm still getting to know it's functions to be able to use it as close to using my SLR.

Regards,

It is no problem: the sound you hear is from de orientation sensor in the camera. A little ball in the camera that makes electric contact and gives the orientation of the photo for the Exif data. So you see the photo upright on the LCD-screen and on the PC-screen, still if it is made 90 degrees turned. Every Ixus has this rattling sound. Sleep well!
