Recently went to Bristol and as many of you people who are invovled with skateboarding and live in the South West of the UK, you have probably heard of Lyodds. Now i visited there and took some shots and as skateboarding is very popular here (well photgraphing it) i thought i should see what reponse i would get with my photos.

now i took a few but 3 stood out the most to me so i stuck them in PS and played with them, i put them into B/W as it brings the photos up a whole new level.

i must appologies for the file size as the sizes are the smallest i could get them with out losing any real detail as the normal sizes are 6mb each! and sorry for links :(

360 flip (http://www.deviantart.com/view/21663911/)

tailslide. (http://www.deviantart.com/view/21703451/)

kickflip set of 3 (http://www.deviantart.com/view/21703770/)

constructive critisism and praise is much appreciated as i am new to this.

thanks

Pete .

Yeah, they are way too big. Anyone without a high-speed connection is going to give up on waiting for those to load. ...even with as fast a connection as I have, it is very annoying to have to scroll up/down/side-side in order to view the whole image. That said, it looks like you have a great eye for composition (also looks like you have some dust on your sensor). I love the colors and the mood of these images, but the 2nd one might be a little dark for my taste.

They look good but the timing on the tre flip is off. You need to catch it either mid flip or just before the skater catches the board. Also, get on the other side of that guy for the kickflip. It's not really appealing to stare at his butt and back.

Do you skate?

For a non skater those are some pretty decent shots, then. I'd recommend that you shoot a sequence for a few different tricks and look at each individual shot. It should become more apparent when the peak of the action is.
