10D CF card speed table

I don't quite understand how this works. If a 1D can write a bunch of CF cards at 2400KB/s+, shouldn't all of the cards that attain this speed be exactly the same in the 10D and take advantage of the 10D's maximum throughput?

For maximum write speed, you need a fast CF card and a fast writer (in this case, the camera).

It would appear that more expensive technology has been invested in the 1D's CF subsystem, than in the 10D's system. Not surprising, given the different market segment...and price...

This is no differnet than CDR-Ws. All burnable compact disks are more or less the same, but the speed ratings of the CD burners vary greatly.
