Where to buy 20D

I have done my research and decided to purchase the 20D with kit lens. This will be my first DSLR after jumping on DP&S 7 years ago - Epson 2mp for $700! So now where do I go to buy it? There's so much on ebay from companies I've never heard of. and prices that can't be real. My local camera store wants full retail so I have narrowed it down to buydig and Beach. Any comments/suggestions?

Look at http://www.bhphotovideo.com , they're reputable and their prices are reasonable. Before you buy from anywhere else, check http://www.resellerratings.com , if they're not listed that's not always a bad sign, but it's not a good sign either. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Thanks...one of the places I was looking at had some really bad reviews. BH is a little pricey. It's looking buydig.com. All good reviews from them. I'm going to give the local store first crack though.

Another good place is http://www.bestpriceaudiovideo.com. I bought my 20D there. They are an authorized Canon dealer.

I just purchased my 20D through ibuydigital.com.

Check out PriceGrabber.com and look for the best price. Find a company that has better than 4 stars.

I forgot to mention that 17street Photo is also a very good vendor, along with the others mentioned. You have read the ratings on Beach Camera, so I don't include them when I say others as I Know nothing about them.

I researched buying my 20D like mad. So much that I annoyed the heck out of my husband. Kept telling me "will you just the darn thing already?!" I was looking at http://BuyDig.com (but I didnt like their warranty on the products.. hardly cover anything) but they had the best price. Also on Ebay I was looking at JK Cameras (http://stores.ebay.com/id=57768487?ssPageName=L2) but I dont know, buying something that costs that much didnt sit well on ebay. But they had the best feedback around and fairly decent kits. I ended up going with BestBuy.com (http://www.bestbuy.com). (I went to the store rather than the website) They had 10% off this week and although I had to spend close to $300 more than anywhere else overall (b/c of tax and it was $100 more than other places), I preferred their warranty. If something cant be fixed, they'll replace it. Really good about that) Best Buy also has a plan that you can join where you earn points ($9.95 a year i think it was). We got back $60 for store credit.

You should have seen my notes on all the stores for comparison. :rolleyes: I really bugged my husband with this.

Thanks to everyone's suggestions. I ended up at onecall.com. Not becuase they had the best price although $1309 for the body wasn't bad...but I got 12 months no interest with minimum payments. Helped me buy the 28-135 IS USM!

I just got mine from BuyDig.com today... I ordered it on Wed. (8/17) and they shipped it the same day. I already have it (I got it around 4pm today: 8/19). I paid 2095.00 for the 20D w/17-85 IS Lens, 4GB Flash Memory, and 67mm UV protection lens (gotta protect that lens!!! :lol: ). I shopped around a lot and that was the best price for an established e-tailer. Yeah, there were a few cheaper...but they either had really bad reviews, were brand new, or had NO reviews... My experience with BuyDig.com was good. They even include a Return Form in your box in case anything is wrong...it tells you exactly what to do.

Edit: That 2095.00 includes tax/shipping...etc... that was the final price.
