I could only make it to Croft on Saturday. Couldn't believe how gloomy it was to start with (was shooting at ISO800), and then heavy rain stopped one of the qualifying sessions and caused an early lunch while they cleared the standing water from the track. The afternoon was much better though. Here's a few shots from the day :-

#1 A very rapid Ginetta

#2 Classic Clubmans just before the red flags came out due to the rain

#3 Still pretty gloomy after the lunchbreak, but at least the rain had stopped

#4 As KennyG said in his post, the MX5 racing was excellent

#5 The Northern Sports and Saloon Car Championship guys were as committed as ever

#6 A real shame that only 15 2CVs made it up to Croft. Lap times were really slow (as you might expect), but the racing was close. They even managed to go around Tower Bend 3 abreast without knocking lumps out of each other!

#7 and finally, an extremely rapid Ford Fiesta

Hope you enjoy the photographs. As usual, any comments or feedback most welcome.

Cheers,

Simon.

I must find some new spots and keep them secret. I did find one on Sunday, but you need 600mm to get anything that looks good.

The Fiesta runs 610bhp and the driver is still sporting a novice cross. It is a bit slow out of the corners, but simply wicked on the straights. Saw it carve the field up at Knockhill and with a bit more driver experience it will knock Stuart's Cossie off top spot.

Anything over 420mm and I have to throw the towel in just now Ken;) . The clubman on your thread taken from the new location?

The fiesta was impressive, and right enough you could hear him spinning up out of Tower. Mind you he went past the Nissan Pulsar of Steve Ferguson on the exit of Tower like he was standing still. That Escort Cossie is one quick car!

Cheers,

Simon.

Thanks Glenn. There was some pretty interesting machinery running among the clubmans.

Cheers,

Simon.

You're not wrong, but that's the beauty of club racing.
