I need an extension PC cord for my Cannon DigRebel 300D so I can place the flash on a lightstand and maintain the ETTL exposure compensation factor as well. I own a Sigma 500 DG Super Flash.

I have search the net over...anyone know where I can find this item...

Thanks

I don't think you can buy long cables that do that job, though i'm not sure why. The most common solution is to use the Canon wireless ETTL system, which means you put a flash (Sigma 500 Super, 550EX, 580EX) or ST-E2 on the camera and point it towards your other flash, and it triggers it wirelessly. Nikon has an advantage here, their cameras can trigger their flashes wirelessly without needing to buy more hardware.

Wait a darned minute!

The Digital Rebel does not have a PC connector, so a PC cable of any length is not going to help you.

Maybe you want the Off Camera Shoe Cord 2. That will connect from the hot shoe to the "foot" of a flash and retain all ETTL, but the cord is only two feet long.

The Canon wireless flash system has a lot of merit if you need to go beyond two feet.

I have seen people buy the Off The Shoe Cord 2, Cut it in half, buy a pair of male-female plugs at Radio Shack with the correct number of pins, solder a lenth of cord with the correct number of wires to the plugs. Then you have an extension cord whenever you need it.
