Took these this weekend at Lauritzen Gardens with the trusty 100mm 2.8 .

These are just lovely! I truly enjoy taking butterfly pictures and know how challenging it can be to capture them well. Well done!

Great shots. Interesting markings on the first, I don't remember ever seeing one like that.

I think it may be the Giant Swallowtail Butterfly (Papilio cresphontes), although I have no experience with any other to compare it to. See http://www.larvalbug.com/eye/gallery-swallowtail.html as my source. I really had a lot of fun(and a good workout) taking these. He always seemed to be on the other side, or over the top, or behind a branch, or somewhare where I wasn't.
