Kerry's '63 Monza Spyder looks stock but it has a lot of the better '64 parts. The normal 110bhp engine is turbocharged to 150bhp.
This is the car that Ralph Nader called "unsafe at any speed". I had one & that statement was a crock! If he'd really cared about that suspension, why didn't he go after VW & Porsche, too? <End of rant!> ;)

What a SWEET little Corvair. I had a friend that was really into these things, and used to talk about this very car that you posted. Thanks Frank. :D
Ralph Nader? Chevrolet was really ahead of it's time with the ill fated Corvair.
Thanks a LOT Ralph!

Thanks, Ralph Nader. The Corvair had the potential of being one of the most interesting cars in the last half of the twentieth century. It's amazing what a little bad press can do.
Didn't they also make a 185hp turbocharged version in later years?

your framing is a little bit distracting
it looks too over exposed in the center and the outside looks like what it should be
try using some unsharp mask
heres an idea...Contrast rasied and levels darkened

I don't know how I missed these - a great car, and it represents the primary reason that I dislike Ralph Nader and anybody that looks like him.
Really a cool car, and the turbo is extremely rare.

Thanks everyone! It's a very clean car.
The turbo was a love it/hate it thing for me. Nice when it spooled up. Bad every 10,000 miles when it blew a seal. The dealership always "had someone in school RIGHT now" to learn how to fix it.
With the quick ratio steering & shifting kits it was a lot of fun to drive, & the camber compensator made it corner flat, too. It did have a flaw in the carb though. If you threw it into a hard left turn at about 40mph, it would flood out! Lotsa fun then!
PaCiFiSt, how did that happen?
