I'm looking for ideas on how to put together albums from pages that I would create in photoshop. Instead of inserting photos into a traditional album, I want to place any given number of images on say, an 8.5x11 page digitally. I've seen some albums that are actually bound just like a book. Any websites for albums, album design tutorials, companies that make bound books, etc.??
Thanks!

Google these:
Queensberry
AsukaBooks
Illuma Memorybook (poor customer service - they didn't reply to my email or answer the phone when I called them).

Do any of you guys know companies or people who would put together a digital wedding album (not only print) but arrange the pictures and about how much it would run me? We've pretty much given up on getting something from the guy who did our wedding.

Our crappy photographer basically took our money and isn't going to finish the job. Our wedding was in Sept 2004 and we are still waiting for the album a year later. He doesn't return emails or phone calls. At least we got the digital files from the wedding. Before the wedding he seemed pretty legit....he had nice copies of his work and several good references.

If anyone knows Carlos Voss from Highland, CA.....tell him we are looking for him.

I can't help you too much with Carlos.

Maybe he furnished digital files to you, and then he had some major computer hard disk loss. It is possible that he lost all files, or worse. Maybe he went bankrupt or went to jail. Maybe he lost your contact information. Whatever, that is between you and Carlos.

There are some of us who digitally compose the wedding images that we shoot ourselves and furnish to our own clients. I suspect that most of us work in Photoshop.

I work in Photojunction (with help from Photoshop), and use QueensBerry albums. Another option is http://asukabook.com, but they only sell to designers or photographers.
It's probably best done by a photographer or a designer, it's not too hard but it takes a fair bit of time. Lucky you got the digital files.

Do either of you guys happen to have samples of your work and might you be willing to do an album with the pictures we've got (or know someone who might be interested)? If so you can email me. Maybe not Tim since he's way out in NZ......We were originally going to get a 40 page book which seemed to have somewhere between 2-10 pictures on it (front and back). I'm trying to figure out about how much that might run me. I know my wife would definitely like a professional album and although I could probably figure out Photoshop I'm not at all artistic.

On the other side of this we are also looking at taking our friend Mr Voss to small claims court to see if we can get back some of our money. It'll help me figure out what this sort of job is worth. I know he is still around since I happened to talk to his son who is also a photograher named Carlos Voss.

Sorry to hear you got burned by Carlos too... It took me 3 years to get SOME of the pictures I paid for.... I know where his day job is and I had to track him down there to harass him.... Don't let him get away with it like some of my friends did... the memories are too important!!! you can Email me if you need help. geena@hautepulp.com . I'm starting to do some wedding coordinating and decided to Google him to see if he is still trying to do business and it looks like he is. He did my wedding in 01. Good Luck!!!
