Here is another shot with my 100mm and tubes:

not bad. In my honest opinion, the shot looks a bit grainy. Also, doesn't seem very focused.

Honest and constructive comments are always welcome! Yes, there is some noise which might have been a result of overappliance of usm. As for focus, I thought it was fine, but you are the judge;) . Thanks for the comments.

Great colours. Focus looks good to me. From this angle you can see just how much they resemble cicadas (which are a close relative anyway).

i agree on the noise comment.but the focus looks fine to me.....
the variation in colour of these little guys never ceases to amaze me
Leo does your ef100mm still auto focus on the tubes? (i'm assuming not and you did a great job with the focus)
my extension tubes claim to be af .but in reality if you put more than 1 tube at a time on it tends to search way too much so i just stick with manual

Thank you all for your kind comments.
Alan - I didn't try if the AF of my 100mm still works, but I've tried the tubes with my 50mm. As you experienced, it just kept searching, which didn't do me any good;) . For me, it doesn't bother me that much as I always use MF for macros anyway. Thanks for your kind words.:)
