This is the worst sight any of us dedicated Leafhopper shooters want to see. I truly hope this is a molt, but I seriously doubt it. A moment of silence please.;)

BE - Is it blood coming out from its mouth??? Great shot. Very sharp and nice DOF. Unfortunately, I can't see the beautiful colors I usually see on your LIVE leafhopper shots;) .

Sorry for posting such a hideous sight. My apologies. It just struck me as odd that one would be laying out in the open like this. Then i got a closer look. :(

Well you should have gotten an autopsy here as this little one could have died from assassin bugs, jumping spiders will suck them dry often and leave a shell and could have been parasites also. Nice shot here though not something I have tried much of, a few bugs in spider webs and some dead grasshoppers on grasses.

That is sooooooo bad. you know I thought about the autopsy, but, just coludnt bring myself to disturb his resting place. And NO, I did not fry him with the flash, thats my story, and I'm sticking to it. Thanks all for the kind and funny words.

I found a couple of dead butterflies yesterday. I think the frost overnight killed them, but I guess this isn't a possibility in Florida in the Northern Hemisphere summer.

Did you say FROST? We have frost in Florida. (in our freezers). Even in the so called winter in Florida, you can get sunburnt on Christmas day. Actually we do get cold weather in Fl., maybe 2 days out of the yr. if we're lucky.;)

where i live we get the complete opposite................. 2 days of sun a year, and rain for what seems like every minute of every other day (plays havock with the bug shots)
