View Full Version : Nobody harrassed me!

I was at a local fete this afternoon and one of the attractions was a 'walk on water' thing consisting of giant transparent globes that one stands in and rolls across a large swimming pool. The children, of course, absolutely love them and I though that they would make good pictures - so I took quite a few. The amazing thing about this story is that absolutely no-one gave me a second glance or looked at me suspiciously or asked why I was photographing the children. I was using the 70-200 - a very noticeable lens.

This episode has quite restored my faith in people. Perhaps people are beginning to realise that not all photographers taking pictures of children are paedphophiles. Perhaps a new age is dawning!:)

So, what you're saying is that you're just not worth harrassing?

Can't seem to find a definition for the word "paedphophiles" in any dictionary. ;)

That could well be the case!

Please forgive my atrocious typing - what I meant (as you well knew) was 'paedophiles' :)

I suppose I will have to!

Maybe we should pass the hat and hire someone to harrass Roy full-time.

Either that, or anonymous calls to his local constabulary....

Very covert. They disguise themselves as coyotes and gila monsters.

Coyotes and Gila Monsters would not be a very effective disguise in this country I'm afraid Roger!

Empty crisp packets and McDonalds wrappers would work over here, but if they really wanted to blend in and look like part of the scenery they should disguise themselves as speed cameras, we have thousands of them :-)

No need for that, just guess the right location in the WAIN thread and forget to post a new picture for 10 hours. Roy loves that!

Yes, but they are gradually being removed (the speed cameras, I mean)!

I had a lot of hassle from a man when I was photographing his 8-years old girl - at the request of her mother. But generally hassle seems to be pretty low, so long as you don't set out to look suspect. In my experience most hassle these days comes from private security guards who don't want you photographing their buildings.

Unnecessarily rude, if I may say so.

I think I agree with you. At least, my experience would tend to confirm that.

Ahhh come on Roy,, lighten up:D

As my father (a very wise man) says, " Politicians, solicitors and real estate agents are one rung above pimps and prostititues on the social ladder".

I personally rate them as at least a couple of rungs below them.;)

At LEAST a couple of steps downward. After all, a good prostitute give fair value for the money spent. A politician, on the other hand....

And the less said about lawyers, the better.

About prostitutes, people have told me.

About politicians, their work speaks volumes.

About lawyers, well, some things are self evident.
