Hi,

Not new to photography but new to the business side of it. I am wanting to start a photography buisness but realize that there are so many options out there for lighting (continuous and strobes etc)

The camera that I would be using will be the 10D. I have heard reports that for digital photography , one must use specific lighting. I wonder what that might be.
What recommended brands? (lowel, SP etc)

Can anyone offer any tips or any links to see about working with this as my first buisiness venture?

Thanks!

First of all, Vaio, you might want to plan out exactly what kind of photo business you intend. For example:

1) weddings
2) portrait
3) outdoor/nature/scenic
4) products/business
5) events/meetings
6) sports
7) wildlife
8) all of the above

Once you know whether you are shooting indoors or outdoors in these categories, then you can begin to think about lighting.

With a digital camera, auto white balance gives you the easiest results, but it will also give you the least consistent results. You will probably learn which lighting works best for your category of photography, and then from that you'll figure out which white balance mode works best.
