Man, really... and I've forgotten his name but Leela will know. He was one of the people who made our recent stay in Bali so pleasurable.

Nothing particularly special but it's always nice to take a reasonably candid shot again a non-distracting background -- a paddy field, in this case.

Cheers,

Don

Don, hi
:)

I love this shot

before I read your words I saw the paddy field behind and thought it was lovely behind him. new growth, the lay out, the colour
it seems like it nearly took from the man himself the way I am talking
but no it didn't

terrific shot of a shy strong man with character
can see the humour in his eyes
love the colours all over ,his shirt and hairband ....... perfect
as usual you done a person's persona great justice in taking the shot
(was he on your balcony/veranda / whatever, when you took the picture ) ?

I had wondered was it a paddy field  and should I say as such as it could maybe be an insult to certain other cultures
then I saw your words and relief set in

v.nice to see you posting some shots of that recent visit
(more more)

Don, excellent shot. I like the colors, its asian look, from the clothing to the rice paddy in the background.

Hi Marie,

You know him and you haven't met him -- you're very good. That's exactly who he is.

Two villas (including ours) and the tiny open-air lobby and library are on three sides of this miniature rice field. I was standing three steps above him so that I only got the rice field in the background. It was Leela who asked him to pose... I just jumped in while she was shooting.

Except for the Monkey Forest, I haven't had time to process any other images and just had a few minutes yesterday. I'm getting more particular in my old age and looking through my Balinese photos, there's not a lot that's impressing me. Still, I do have some worth posting. I'll try to get to them before summer's over.

Cheers,

Don

Thanks...sometimes things do work. The backgrounds to candid shots are often less than wonderful. This seemed like a nice scene to shoot him against.

Cheers,

Don

Thanks... that's very kind. I haven't posted much only because of time, not interest. I'll do better (maybe).

Cheers,

Don

1. I like alliteration.
2. From the perspective of my own age, he's a youth.
3. I think you can call anyone anything as long as it's obvious that you care about them and respect them.
4. What marie said... read the first two words of my post.

thanks for that info. Don
I hope Leela's shot turned out as nice

you say there is not a lot that is impressing you in what you got of the trip to Bali.
I doubt that. that they are not extra good,
even if your senses tell you different.

it's only your senses
not ours
:lol::lol:

see, you don't have to practice, practice, practice like some of us
practice makes perfect they say
I believe it

hope to see more of yours, whenever you get a chance

you mention old age

what's that ?
;)
