I noticed there is a battery (bp 511 for the g3 of course)on the market named "maha", and they claim it will carry 20 percent more charge. It is also a bit cheaper than the Canon brand. Does anyone have experience with this brand?

The pricing of batteries just amazes me. Recently I saw them for $65 in a usually competitive store, and this was not the Canon one...
Haven't heard of Maha, but I recommend the no-name batteries from Eforcity, for $13 each. Working fine, I can't say if the hold more or less charge than the original Canon, they last forever anyway.
BTW, the most annoying "feature" of this G3 is the battery level. It's like... shutting down now... sorry...

I know. I guess when a company uses proprietary accessories we should expect high prices.
I went out and bought the Maha battery (39.99) at Glazers Camera (great store in Seattle, you can buy on line too). I noticed that some places online are selling it for 29.99
Here is the link to Powerex, the makers of Maha.

I've used MAHA batteries now for over 3 years for my digital cameras. Great product, would highly recommend.
