Ok,
I have my 300D, 18-55 EF-S and my 75-300 III USM.
These are the accessories I would like to get in some time, help me order them as to which one first, which second, third etc..
Battery Grip
New Bag (mine is fine for now)
Portable Hardrive
100-400 L IS USM (last on the list...)
Polarizer
My current lens is fine, so lets put that last on the list, and bag should be fine till I get a new lens and portable hd.
Help please..

Before I can help you: have you ever run out of batteries and wished you had a grip? Have you ever felt that the 75-300 or kit lens were heavy enough that you needed a counterweight to balance the camera? Have you run out of storage on your current CF cards and needed to upload stuff while away from your computer?
I wouldn't get the battery grip or harddrive until you can answer yes to those questions.
I'd personally pick up a polarizer for the kit lens as you might use that for scenic shots. The 100-400 would be 2nd on my list then out of your choices.

It's all about YOU, and YOUR unique desires and what itches YOU the most.
IMO the rebel grip is overpriced. I almost ordered it once, but now I'm glad I didn't. Also, it's discontinued now and you might have trouble finding it.
I think a 58mm polarizer (a good brand) is a worthwhile investment. You'd need that sooner or later for sure, and it does improve your photos. Unlike bags and grips. With canon's lenses the 58mm has the consumer lenses covered IMO. The next one would be the 77mm for your fast teles and L zooms.
I'd get the CPOL and forget about bags and lenses and grips.
Then I'd get... 10-22 probably. Wide angle is fun.
Then flash...
Then studio lights... ;)

Yes I have run out of batteries (last night for example but it has happened on many occasions)
My lenses are not heavy but I do borrow lenses from people (100-400 L, sigma 50-500)
I can fill my CF cards is 3-4 hours spotting, so yes, I have filled my CF cards on many occasions.

Wow... $78 sure would be nice. I could have bought on eBay a couple of months ago for $59.99 BIN... but didn't, because I needed a new camera bag, and went with that. Now, expensive. I just checked your link... $119. Seems like everybody is either out, or raised the price.
I too, don't really "need" one... but i "want" one!

From your list, definitely the polarizer.
Perhaps you should consider buying a spare battery rather than a grip? You can keep them both charged and carry the extra in your bag.

I just got a battery grip for my 300D. I especially like the feel when taking pictures in portrait /vertical. The controls feel almost the same in either orientation so it is not as awkward when changing.
Got on eBay for $90 just after the digitalphoto.com price went up from $78.

I guess once they saw a demand they hiked the price...

I just got the grip for my rebel too. I was not keen on having it until I picked up the 100-400 and the grip countered the weight beautifully, now I just can't seem to go without the grip (which sucks, because when I upgrade my body, I will have to save for a new grip too).
But my list would go:
Polarizer
Lens
Grip
Portable HD
But I have plenty of cards and if I run out of room, I just dump to the laptop that I always have on me...:D

I just bought mine last weekend for $169.00 in a local shop. As I said to the sales guy: There's no logical reason in the world to be buying this right now. I just want it, and if I wait, I won't get it!
BTW: I love it! :D

I have to say that the grip was pretty much my best buy from Canon for my ex 300D and it is improved even more if you add the Canon hand strap. This latter is very cheap and does a good job. The extra depth the grip offers makes the hand strap really comfortable and practical compared to a neck strap. I'd have that first and the polariser second, partly because it improves handling for every shot.

I bought the grip from a POTN member for a whopping $65.00, and I love it. First, it takes a while before the batteries need to be recharged. Second, I've got pretty big hands, and I like the fact that I have more to hold onto. Lastly, I think it affords me more stability when I shoot...
