I need help making a decision.

I have been planing a 10-15 day trip to Peru for Fall 2011. Doing the 4-day Inca Trail hike has been a childhood dream.

My friend just invited me to join him on a Tanzanian Safari. We both grew up in Tanzania and have done safari's a few times. Our spouses haven't. To keep the cost down, we would be staying at a relative's farmhouse in Karatu and doing day trips to Ngorongoro, Serengeti and Lake Manayara and ending with a coupe of days in Zanzibar. Not the ideal safari expereince, but should be go0d enough for the spouses, I hope.

Which trip would you pick? Cost difference between the two trips would be about the same.

I'd do the Safari in a heartbeat. The Inca trail has lasted for thousands of years, and by the looks, it will still be there.

Who knows what "man" and "environmental issues" will affect Africa and the savannah lands around them. Safari all the way!

I just came back from Peru, so you know what I'm going to say.

The Inca trail is one of the popular highlights for sure and Machu Picchu is simply stunning, but there is so much more to Peru. With 10-15 days, I would assume you would be exploring those other areas. Check out my Peru photos - maybe they will help you decide:
