When I was at school I gave a bunch of photos to one of my art teachers to review. He flipped through them at lightning speed, choosing the ones that grabbed him in the fraction of a second that he saw at them.
I don't know if this is an ideal way to review a group of shots but it's what I did with yours!
I share your love of IR - I ordered an R72 today and am looking forward to giving it a try. The surrealistic quality seems to work well with wild perspective and odd views, so the one with the bridge grabbed my attention. The reflected reeds were smart too.
Footprints and Rock Herd - good observation, and I like the monochromatic quality. Rock Herd reminded me of that birds eye shot of camels in the desert with long shadows.
The waves shots seem a little grey to my eye, and lack a strong subject. I've tried these kind of shots too, and haven't been very happy with them. The best wave shots I've seen either seem to be dreamy, long-exposure ones, or dramatic storm-crashing-on-rocks ones.
That bird looks like a heron - although not any of the ones that I am familiar with in Australia!
Thanks for posting,
