Optical Zoom Prob

Once I've zoomed in on a subject and released the zoom control, the camer automatically zooms back out to the 7mm point, unless I depress the shutter buttom. If I depress the shutter button, it will hold the position until I release, at which time it will automatically return to the 7mm position.

Has anyone seen this before? Is there a setting that controls this that I have missed, or do I need to head straight to a Canon Service Center.

Hi - I've not seen this with my G1. I would check out service.

Yes, take it in for service. A few of us have had zoom problems and they're fixable.
