Well, I like the 2nd photo the most. Very detailed path to the docks. I don't care so much for black and white, it definetly has it challenges to it though.

I like them both. The lighting and shadows make for a nice use of b&w. If I were being picky, in the first I think the people are a distraction.

Thanks for your kind comments, i agree that people can be a pain but there are times when you can't help it and have to put up with it. On saying that, the top pic i took was lucky, because as i was composing for the there were 2 people to my left knowing that i was taking a pic didn't even have the decency to stop so it was a one shot, luckily though i'd set the exposure and ND grad ready for thr shot and it came out ok......!!??

Yes it came out great and there's no problem in having people in your photo. They live there or they usualy pass there, so why shouldn't they be included?
IMHO the people there add to the photo. Try to imagine that same photo without them. Would it have the same interest? I think not.

I prefer the second shot too. Both have good contrast and excellent sharpness. Nice work. Tony

Not in my shots unless I am shooting them or want them there and have planned for them.....way to distracting....
I like the second best and would also like to see it in color !
