Here's a picture I took at Stage 11 of the Tour de France as Lance Armstrong had dropped all pretenders to his throne but Allesandro Valverde and was sprinting to the finish. I just got the camera a week before, it was overcast, I forgot to change the ISO, and I was standing on a slanted roof to get this shot so it's not the best but I liked the sense of power and motion with Lance and I really like the expression of the two women to the right and left.
Canon 20D
70-200 f4 at 70mm and f4
1/250 (shutter priority)
ISO 200
Matrix metering mode
image 2864 x 2047 pixels
I added some fill light and sharpened it with Picasa and that's all I did. I hosted it with "tinypic.com" but as you can see it's anything but "tiny"... sorry, a true newbie here
Anything else you might suggest to salvage this shot?
Oh... and how do I get this picture smaller?

Here's another one climbing at the top of La Madeline:

I didn't do anything to this picture.
I just like it for some reason.

the close shot is awesome. unique. brilliant. I've never seen a cycling shot framed like that, but it's great. You get the sense that no matter how fast the photographer, Lance is already gone.

On the second one I was just in the middle of the road on the mountain (like everyone else is) and firing off my 5-whatever frames per second and happened to catch that shot framed like it is.
Thanks for the comments.

Good to see someone else was at Le Tour this year!
Second one would be awesome if you'd moved the camera to the left a bit! Afraid that given it's current position it doesn't do anything for me, unless you'd got Hincapie more in focus in the background. Is it sad I can identify a rider from a blurred shot like that? lol

George was next to him, that's Popovich ;-)

I was convinced it was Popovych at first, but looking at the shades I'm sure they're the the silver Racing Jackets on George's helmet....
Ah well, you were there! lol
