Sure, I'll try! Although its pretty difficult to get decent Bokeh when you don't have any lenses which are wider than f3.5!

Awesome photo, what is that, cheese in his hand?
BTW, I could be not thinking right, but if you don't mind investing in a 1.4x TC there doesn't seem to be any reason to go with the 400 over the 300 that I can see. Can somone clue me in? I see a lot of people with this lens so I'm curious.

Well a naked prime is generally sharper than a prime+TC. Also the TC sill affect AF performance. The 400 is one of the best AF performing lenses available.

i choose 400mm so that it gives me 560mm with 1.4xtc for stationary bird shots where mf is still possible... and with 400mm pure glass, the AF is lightning fast with good light.. excellent for flight shots.... lastly, i carry a tripod all the time...:D

I always wanted one as a pet, but parents told me in Canada you can't keep them in the houses. Wonder if I could get one now. Would be great for testing out new lenses (macro especially) and it would be one cute creature (I always had a thing for lizzards.) I am allergic to cats, but I would think a lizzard would be fine?

Gecko! That's the name of the one I love I think. I remember my parents bringing a book on one home from Hawaii when I was much younger (maybe 5-6.)
I think you need a special breed and need some lamps and need to take care of them. I guess I'll have to research more. I'm also not sure if I could get one at a pet store in Canada.

Well, there are plenty of them down here, and many wild ones. Iguanas are wild in miami, and i tried to catch a few, but it was harder than it looked...:)
I was only using my hands tho... if i had a castnet, i could just throw it right on top. The little ones were about 6 inches long, and were BRIGHT green. pretty neat.
Maybe you could plan a trip to fla, adn get some lizards, and have a nice shoot! haha
Oh and ya, definately do some research, from what i know about snakes, it is not too hard to take care of reptiles, and once you look it up i think it will be okay. just check on having them in canada.
You might need a lamp and leave it on all the time when it is cold, so you prob couldnt have them in your room...
let me know what you find out

Hehe, for sure. My room ranges from 22 (72 degrees faherenit) degrees celsius to 30 degrees celsisus (86 degrees faherenit) at all times, because of all the heat generating electronics I have, so perhaps it would be okay, not sure.

I posted this one in the nature section a while back, it didn't get any response, maybe it'll do better here. Taken with my XT and 50mm 1.4, I'm pretty sure I had the lens wide open. PP - cropped, sized, unsharp mask .

I think they are ok, in fact the first time i came to this forum i didn't know what is bokeh means, but from shots and some replies i found that bokeh means the blur in background, the more blurry it is, the better bokeh it is.
Nice shots, BTW.

Those shots could benefit quite a bit from a circular aperture and more aperture blades... 50mm f/1.8 MkII right?

You're correct Lani... I did use my 50mm f/1.8 II... Could you explain what a "circular aperture" and "aperture blade" to me is? I've never heard of those terms...

Look at the lights in the background. They are pentagonal in shape due to the 5 blade aperture of the 50 1.8. Other lenses employ more aperture blades to produce round specular highlights.

Ahhh... Thanks In2 for the clarification... I guess the lens has it's limitations due to the cost of the glass... Hheheeehhehe... It's all good... I liked it nonetheless...
