Lord_Malone,
Any PP in that pic? What did you use?

I used a 16-35L. No special PP other than slight tonal adjustment, RAW to jpeg conversion, a pass through Noise Ninja, and resizing for the web. ;) I've been told that the image looks very surreal. But if there's any doubt, I'll be more than happy to send anyone a copy of the RAW file. ;)

I used reversed nifty fifty for that. I'm sure if you have macro lens the shot will be a lot better.
I shot that before I have my external flash, so it needs a lot of shot and delete

It’s amazing how many people confuse shallow depth of field and good bokeh!
These two things usually go hand in hand, but they are not the same..
Having one does not necesserely means that you have the other too.

Ill post some examples why not
1 Shallow DOF (not bokeh)
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a197/bluej511/IMG_3533.jpg
2 Perfect bokeh

My fellow Canuck showed two excellent examples.
I wouldn't like to comment on other member's photos because that is not the subject of this thread, I'd rather give my own examples..

Narrow Depth of Field, no bokeh worth mentioning:

Nerrow Depth of Field but ugly bokeh:

Not looking for a fight...Just looking to better my abilities... If I understand right, the more undistinguishable the background the better the bokeh?

Ed

Hermeto
28th of January 2007 (Sun), 01:19
Not only undistinguishable, but also generally smooth, pleasant, uniform and gradual light rendering - all that put together makes Good bokeh..

Yes it is!
Maybe not the nicest that I’ve ever seen, but I’d say that this is good bokeh.
