I waffle between liking smooth bokeh and bokeh that is considered busy by some. That bokeh in particular is gorgeous, great for negative space. Gives it a painterly look.. which is why I like Zeiss rendering (and in this case that Voigtlander).

The 50L get a lot of flack but it definitely has a beautiful drawing style for Out of Focus objects.

Yeah the bokeh seems to be creamier on the 50L over the 1.4. I personally haven't had any issues with my 50L but that's probably due to me being a newbie not recognizing the issue. If there's such with my copy. :D
