Great images! I just got one of these lenses today, but now I have to wait a week before the mount is going to get here! :sad:

My situation was the opposite (mount first, lens a week later). Was excruciating! But it was worth the wait. I think you'll dig it, its so awesome (build and IQ wise).

The mount came in yesterday, quite a bit ahead of time. When mounted, I got 'Error 1', but after poking around a bit inside the camera I found out what it was. One of the "arms" from the bayonet mount was pushing a tiny lever in the body. When the lever was pushed it wouldn't take pictures, when it was, it wouldn't. After about 10 seconds with a dremel, all is well again.

The build quality is incredible. It makes my 70-200L feel like a cheap plastic Chinese toy! I'm also amazed at how small it is. Both in diameter and in length. I'm itching to take some pictures now, but it is pouring rain outside, and will be until monday...

The set up was basically me shooting 6 feet from the cat under the Christmas tree, using 24-70 L at 70mm all the way out (for max blending) and about 2 feet from him there is a patio door. on the balcony we hung those dangley icicle lights which are about four feet from the patio door, and for some reason unknown to me, it displays a magnified screen through some of the lights but not through all of them.

Really cool effect, but maybe someone with technical background can explain what is going on here?

After the grassbird we needed a water break so proceeded to the driving range. There I spotted this very unshy fella perching on the rail. Funny how long this fella took his time as I was fiddling with the lens controls to get it to focus appropriately.
