Just thought this was rather a strange building for the location, but it sure makes a beautiful scene. What I find strange is the water wheel on the side and no apparent stream.

here is a closer view of it.

I am seeing this with my 6 year old nephew and he just said "How beautiful!" when he saw the first image.

I fully agree ;)

Very nice shots Sandy. Mark that one down for an autumn shot - it would be even more beautiful.

That second shot is really nice. I like that a lot.

Very nice, it makes me miss that part of the country. It is green and lush and you've captured it well.

But your first post around November will snap me back to reality....

It really is a beautiful scene. Regarding the water wheel, is that the bathroom window next to it?

There may once have been a stream there. Small streams disappear all the time up in New ENgland.

Never thought of that, very good point though, You'd have to drink a lot of beer to spin that wheel.

This is true, at first I was thinking that there might have been a very active spring near where all the tall grass is, However a stream would require an undershot wheel and this appears to be an overshot one. Can't figure out where they would have sluiced the water from.

I think the wheel is just to make that little building more appealing :):) This is lovely enough to print out as a 12x16 and frame it!

that is a beautiful sighting
love the colours too
I love the second shot especially, of the closer up of the first:D
it's just gorgeous
I just love the path and the background

I would think where those high raggity grasses and weeds are near the barn that there had been a river or stream at some time and notice them coming from the tree on the right.
different to the rest of the grass around

this looks the real thing as regards the wheel
I only say that because those wheels are sometimes left around to add effects to old buildings. I took a few shots of them against concrete walls
(you may remember the odd one)
maybe you could have a close look (and pic :D) at the whole set up beside that wheel

looks like there is or was a lot more to it

as a very special I would love you to get a water diviner and just see will it twitch around there Sandy

In open/flat areas like what this looks like, the streams constantly change course. I love the second one. Very nice Sandy!

I love these pictures. I have always dreamed of having a shop with water powered tools. You make a good point, where was the water sluiced in from?

Thank you so much KeneyC and Marie; This sure looks like the real thing, it is however an overshot wheel, so I'm not to sure of any stream, they may have had a water source farther away and on high ground that they were able to pipe down there to the sluice box on top.
