Advice on Lensmate & filter size option

Thinking of getting lensmate + filters for my G1.

Am wondering should get the 49mm filters OR 52mm filters+step up rings.
Qn 1: Is the 52mm more common and more easily adaptable when I upgrade my camera later (which sure will come as G1 is considered 'old').
Qn 2: Will the 52 mm filters, etc cause some issue to the above combination such as blocking the sensor etc...

Appreciate any advice please.

I've had my G-1 for a couple of years and use the lensmate with 49mm filters. I also use the 52mm step-up ring for the teleconverter without any problems.

You may want to use the 52mm filters with step-up, particularly if you think you'll upgrade your camera. I believe the G-3 uses those.
