Here's a couple of fun shots taken in the car wash last night.
Any Kiwi/Australian should clearly know the car.
All these shots were handheld. 17-40mm lens.

ISO 400, 1/2 second

ISO 400, 1 second, f5.6

ISO 800, 1/2 second

And sorry about the size of these ones, as they were uploaded to my site a couple of weeks ago. (Have been given a purposeful reddish tone, and saturated a wee bit)

Cool pictures Wazza, love the colours, the combination with the dash lights looks great....btw the number plate 'Toolie', did you know the implications of that word here in Oz? It has to do with older guys attending 'Schoolies Week' in Queensland!
Roger.

Thanks for the comment.

I just realised I didn't change the hue for the image. It was in a very red sunset, that's why I shot it. I don't think I changed anything, apart from maybe 2-4 saturation increments.

It's my dads car, and he's a self-employed Toolmaker.

I've also got a personalised plate...

Wazza I kinda' like the hue the way it is, very warm feel.......I had a feeling the car wasn't yours for some reason!

Maybe the fact the car wash shots, are taken from the passengers seat? :D

As always..

Thanks. :)

I've learnt to carry it with me. I'm always missing exciting things without it!

very nice shots,
and i love your VY SS
but don't use those car washes! they put slight scratch marks on your car!
get it hand washed, or hand wash it yourself.
is that a 6 speed?
gotta love the gen 3 5.7's. endless pull :D

on the left of your cluster, turn the car off (key all the way anti clockwise) then hold down 'mode' and 'set', then turn your car on.
it should put it into police mode (digital speedo, volt meter, few other things)
i should work, but i think it depends on the series.

doesn't do any harm, just turn your car off and back on to set it back to normal

also, i hear the standard CAI on those are crap. very restrictive. go a bigger after market one and you'll notice the difference :D

Yes it drives very well.

0-100km/h in 5.82sec I recall.

This is the 4 SPD Auto.

My dad has always hand washed it, but for some reason wanted to wash it at garage. It was late at night also.

We'll give the digital speedo trick a go.

I've also driven the BA Falcon XR6T. Now that is one nice car, and exhaust note is actually louder than this small dual pipe SS.
I wish he would get a Remus kit.

nice photos there Wazza, but the problem is it's only a holden :) The speedo pics are cool, I was looking at getting a camera car mount but I have been unable to find anyone in NZ that supplyies the gear.

If you really wont a cool effect you should change the LEDs for the dash :)

First thing Im going do when I get an SLR is build one :)
All the required part are easily avliable, you just need to put them together.

Hehe..

Thanks also MattyB.

That trick worked, and we now have digital speedo, digital rpm, volts, ohms, remaining fuel in litres, instantaneous fuel burn in litres per 100km/h up to 2 decimal places. Really neat stuff.

Don't see many Holden's here in the UK...:(

I have a baby Holden...Omega here, but we only get a puny 3000cc V6..:(

My weekend car might keep up...350ci Trans Am..;)

I'm sure the weekend car could keep up.

I'll miss the V8s when I head to the UK again next year. :(

Thanks for the comment, but I can't see how you know what gear it's in. The third pic is actually from a few months back, and the top 2 are in the car wash. Engine was stopped in the wash.
:)

Would you like me to start importing some? :D

Well I think Holdens are over rated. If you look at the engine performce, jap cars with samller engines can get more power. And they use less gas, which has to be a good thing in this day in age.

As for Fords well there is no love lost there either. :)

But that's just me.

Holden lovers like myself know it's not about what cars are better for the same value, it's about faith. haha

the holden and ford car scene is that huge in australia, if you're a car enthusiast, your plan is already set:
pick a side (ford or holden)
buy one
make it unique
keep pouring money into it
turn heads

What sort of Holden is it?

The only Holden we get here officially is the Monaro, but rebadged as a Vauxhall.
