Getg3,
Awesome shots! Hey, how do you like the Kenko 52mm adapter vs. Lensmate 52mm. Is the
Kenko also made of aluminum material? I'm trying to get an adapter for my G3 but can't decide
whether to go with the Kenko or Lensmate. I know the Kenko is lot cheaper than the Lensmate.
Any inputs?
I'm also still deciding whether to get a Tiffen or Kenko lens. What's your opinion??
Thanks,
G3guro.

Here is my opinion regarding the adapters:
Both Kenko and Lensmate are made of non plastic material (aluminum?). Kenko is slightly longer. The bayonet on Lensmate is smoother to operate, Kenko is tighter. So for quality: Lensmate is slightly better, but for the value: You can get 2 Kenkos for the price of one Lensmate. Conclusion: I recommend both of them.
I am happy with both Kenko KNT20 2x Tele and Tiffen MegaPlus 0.75X Wide converters. To avoid vignetting, for Tiffen converter I suggest you get a 52-43 thin ring from Lensmate.
Enjoy shooting!

Another thing for your consideration:
Kenko KNT20 is 3.45oz lighter than Tiffen tele.

Getg3,
Yeah, I saw that....Do you know if Kenko makes a silver/chrome on the wide angle lens just like
the telephoto finish lens.
Thanks,
G3guro.

G3guro,
I am not sure there is any 52mm Kenko wide converter in chrome/silver. The one that I saw was a black one (KNW-075). Tiffen wide converter got a good review by Kazutoku:
http://kazutoku.cside21.com/G1andG2/report1_eng3.htm
0.75X is not superwide, but that is enough for me for taking tall building or group pictures. Pictures taken by a converter wider than 0.7X look tilted at both ends of the images.

G3guro.

G3guro:
I got my Kenko KNT20 from:
http://www.globalmart.com/index/c/cameras_lenses_filters_kenko_.htm
and Tiffen MegaPlus wide converter from:
http://www.2filter.com/kenko/Kenkodigital.html
Kenko is available now at 2filter.com. So you can get both of them from one place and shipping is free.

getg3,
do you really think it's worthwhile to get the tiffen .75 wideangle? i have the knt 20 and love it, as it can give me a blurrier background.

Hottie,
It depends on what kind of pictures you are going to take. Personally, I like to take the Tiffen wideangle with me while I am travelling (big buildings, statues, etc.). Also it helps when you are taking group pictures.

Getg3,
Is the stuff that they sell at globalmart.com brand new? or refurbished?
Thanks,
G3guro.

I assume it is brand new. I can't tell. Kenko KNT20 is still new in USA. It is still listed as new item on THK Photo website:

hello everyone,
I don't use a canon camera but a minolta dimage A1 and am interested in the kenko knt-20 telephoto lens. it was recommended to me through my local photo store.
I saw the one picture posted taken with that lens.
I have a question was that picture cropped or is it original?
Do the pictures show and dark corners or CA (chromatic aberrations / color fringing)?
Just want to make sure those above don't appear on the picture from that lens (my research shows that many tele lenses have that problem)

All are original and no cropping, straight from CF card. You can also see the exif data.

No vignetting (dark corners) when used at full zoom. To avoid CA use f4 aperture or bigger numbers.
