Well the exif says your exposure was 2.5 seconds at f/6.3.

At f/5.6 your shutter speed is going to be around 1/200th if not faster. The moon is super bright when it comes to taking a picture of it. Also turn off IS if you had it on, it cause cause weirdness when a camera / lens is on a tripod.

yup, very over exposed. your taking a picture of reflected sunlight. you don't need a long shutter speed.

Yep, for this moon shot I shot it at 1/200 of a second at f9, ISO100 & 500mm. I find anything under that shutter speed overexposes badly. Hope this helps.

As others have said, it's way too over exposured. You can also crop the moon in tighter to get rid of the glare on the bottom.

Here's one from the same night. My tripod is soon to be in the garbage(Best buy junk).I actually remembered to turn the IS off.Even with the camera set at 10 sec. I could still see it shaking.(Next investment a real tripod))

the second "moon" underneath" would have been when your mirror SLAPPED and shook it for the millisecond.. then the rest of the exposure was stable..
