Let me apologize up front for "another" set of sunset pictures - by the time I get off work, the sun is almost set - so y'all will likely see mostly sunsets from me for a bit.

Pictures converted to TIFF by RSE. Local contrast enhancement via wide radius USM, cropped for subject matter, and RGB saturation increased - that's it for processing in Photoshop.

Frame is (supposed to be) a 1" border with marquee tool at 3px feather. Inverse selection and fill at 30% opacity. Stroke inside at 3px.

The first picture is a look at another local sunset from my "usual" vantage point. I liked the play of colors in the clouds, and the afterglow on the clouds once the sun slipped below the horizon.

The second picture was taken on my way back to the barracks from work. To me, it captured that golden hour when the light is warm.

As always, comments/critiques welcomed!

Thanks, Stan - I'm finding that I'm not having to do QUITE as much work adjusting levels and all in PS as I learn how to use the camera better.

Here's one from tonight, taken with the 100-300. Bit of a different angle - I was afraid I would have missed it if I had gone the rest of the way up the low hill in the foreground.

ISO 400
Shutter 1/400
Aperture f/8
Focal length: 180mm
