Hello people (somes will recognize me with my damned question.. :& )

I did a lot of test with 2 Canon 10D. All is perfect, but noise seems so present and weird. I can see the noise at 200 ISO in low light (but well visible) zones.

I put a picture done in ISO 400Iso (jpeg not "compressed" take from a Raw - thank BBrowser )
on the web :

I need your feeling about the noise.
1- is the quantity of noise is normal low light zones ?
2- when you take attention, the noise (grain) seems to be on a layer composed of a small green and red splashes (but they are low - blade) . Theses subtiles splashes make the noise sometime more accentued.

Is this normal ? Or i should send back my camera ?

I was expecting to have such quality like the pictures posted on Dpreview Review .... :&

Thanks again for your comments
I will begin to be parano :)

There is absolute nothing unnormal to this picture (beside its not that sharpe).

You are looking at 100% Zoom to a 6MP Picture. And there you see a minimum of grain. In the end you print at A4/A3 and at this time you wont even notice this small amount of graine, even if you know where to look at.

2 Years ago people woulde be happy to get such a noise free picture at ISO 100.

ISO noise is tied to brightness level of pixel. That is why you get more noise on dark areas. This is why high ISO photos should be exposed as bright as possible.

The smooth transition area between dark and bright in (mostly) out of focus sections of photo reveal noise more because human eye is trained to notice changes in patterns.

Also, noise is dependant on exposure, sensor heat and maybe also affected by electromagnetic disturbances (usually resulting in striped noise, I got this kind of anomalities with D60 in New York).

Shoot the same Image on film at 400 iso. It'll be a whole lot worse than that image. In my opinion other than the softness of the image that comes from lack of DoF, the image is a fine example of what to expect from a digital camera. The "blocking Up" of out of focus areas is pretty normal too.

Thanks to all. very nice to take times to answer :)
Yes maybe, i am waiting too much for low noise at 400 Iso. So many people said that 10D is nearly noise-free, that i believed that the pictures would be super fantastic besided the pictures done my old ancient D30.
I expect too much .. maybe . Thanks god, i am just a beginner in photo, not a pro :)

P.S. the picture was out of focus because i am bad to focus when the child stop to move :))

Thanks :)
