This is a photo of the dome on the Melbourne Museum. Made me feel as though I was somewhere in Europe :)

This is a lovely shot. I think that the balance between light and dark areas is about right, the splash of sun is on the golden mean and it is soo..soo.. nice to see sunlight in an image.

My instincts are to lighten the shot a bit. For example I am not sure if the top of the dome is painted gold or painted in sunlight -- but that may be my monitor setting.

If it is dark to you too -- I cannot see the building's lines in the dark areas -- I would try to alter the color balance to bring out these features. I have just done that by assigning color management in PS as ProColor RGB. The impact on the color rendition is startling. I would sharpen a tad too.

Beautiful picture.

Thanks again for your comments Howie :)

The top of the dome is actually painted gold - the rest of the colour on the building is from the sun. I'm really surprised the photo turned out at all, as I took it really late in the day, and the camera was hand held without a flash - really quite a fluke :) I can still see all of the building detail on my computer... but will have a play in photo shop, and see what I can do.

Thanks again Howie - I really appreciate your comments

It certainly doesn't look like Melbourne except for the clouds. I love the shot but it appears a little too dark for me too.
