I told my cousin I'd come watch his game and take some photos. Little did I know his team isn't very good, which lead to pretty much all my photos being of the other team with the ball... It was fun anyways and I was excited for how well they turned out. Please let me know if you would change anything in these two photos.

Welcome to the forum!
This is a very nice start for your first sports shoot. You've got focus, face, action and fairly tight images. The fact that you are low (kneeling perhaps?) and shooting in portrait orientation is a plus as well. Good job.
Next time, dial in a little + exposure compensation (perhaps 1/3 or even 2/3 depending on conditions). This will adjust for the shadows inside helmets to help expose the face properly. Keep shooting (tight and tighter) and posting.

Thanks Phil, I've cropped these quite a bit. Maybe I'm in need of a tele-converter... You're right I was kneeling down for all shots. As that was what I've read on POTN to make shots a little more interesting.
I shoot in raw+Jpeg as I can't always get my exposure right on so i'll try and adjust these. One problem I have is that I can really only get off 4-5 frames before my camera buffers out. Which leads to less keepers.
Thanks again for your input.
