This little guy was hoping around my patio while I was taking pictures of my daughters, so I took a couple of him too. I had a very hard time getting a sharp focus. I didn't have a tripod with me and I was following him all over the patio. I used a Canon G5, tried manual focus and auto, but still couldn't get it as sharp as I would have liked. Any tips on shooting macro with a G5?

i usually manually focus at 6inches and go backward or forward to focus on the subject. otherwise i just rely on the macro mode.
if your going to use the on-camera flash. you might want to step away(because of vignetting) and zoom in-still in macro mode- and adjust the flash power manually.
