I took these at a near by park, mainly just to test out my new L. I didn't have the Tamron yet, because it came a few hours ago... C&C always welcome, that's why it's here ;) (Last three are Infrared with the Hoya R72, It's tough to get landscape with the "Nifty-Fifty")

Thanks! :)

I played around with the duck one in PS and came up with this... Is it too much?

The flower is beautiful and sharp, great colours.

The duck does nothing for me, but each has their own view,
The last 3 are fantastic, how did you achieve this, there is just something special about them.

I thought the duck was kinda bland... (really how many ducks have you seen in photos) I was just impressed with the colors and shapness of my new lens :D

The last three were taken with my 50mm f/1.8 and a Hoya R72 Infrared filter. The filter blocks wavelengths lower than 720 nanometers (hense the name R72) (someone correct me if I'm wrong) So you can get some interesting effects. But you do have to do some PP in Photoshop... not too much tho

I really like the Ir shots, the duck yeah it's boring but I was looking at the technical side like you were too. It is sharp and shows what the lens can do. I have an IR filter fm my G3 days of shooting with it. I must get some adapter rings to mount to my nifty 50 too. What speeds and white balance were you using on the IR shots? Tony

Good images. Especially the IR shots. I love them. I'm not keen on the duck shot though. Well done.

Well, I kinda like the duckbecause of the whater behind it, but the flower is not my thing ;) The 2nd duck is a bit too much 'enhanced' IMO. 1st and 2nd IR shot are great! (On the 3rd the fence on the lower left gets too much a dark 'blob') What were the shuttertimes? Around a second or so?

The duck is great... look at how sharp it is.. yeah, its just a boring duck but its a damn good shot of a duck. I was looking at your shots and was expecting to see that you had a 1d or something, but they were the 300D with a "L"???? God, I need an "L" , I have a 350D and just cant get consistantly sharp shots... I admit it though, i do use some Gaussian Blurr during PP but thats when sharpening just wont get it sharp enough.. so I go the other direction... aussian blurr, lower the saturation a bit and fly with it.

Ya, I think the purple in the second duck shot is just too much, maby if it was a little darker blue. But then again it's only a duck shot so I don't know why im bothering :D

But as for the shutter speeds.... Multiply that by 30 ;) (it's why most of the trees come out blurry) I might try bumping up the ISO and see If I can get some better results, It was at 200 for these.

Well first of all I shoot in RAW, pretty much essential. Then I usually set the shutter speed around 20-30 seconds @ f/8. I just started doing this photography thing two months ago so I'm not falmiliar with all the aspects of my camera, so I just have it set to auto whitebalance. Then when I open up the file in PS I usually adjust the tempreture a little, around ~4100. After that you can just get creative in PS... I've done some color IR (very very colorful) but I don't like the looks so much of that (looks too fake) Right now I just like the desaturated look with a hint of blue tint.

I really like photos 3,4 and 5. It reminds me of winter scenes, the effect makes it look like snow has fallen, great shots.
