..........or Gal, as the case may be. So, when it comes to Pick-up Trucks, which do you prefer? Here's two that I shot this week. I really like both of these trucks, especially since they are older than I am. Okay, only one year older. But they are older.:D

Is that a big block or small block Chevy? As a dear departed friend used to tell me over and over when I had a Vette ... "small blocks are for punks".

Ford F350 Crew Cab Dually 4x4. On my second one now and looking at buying another one.
If I were to switch, it would probably be a Dodge Ram. The SRT-10 in a 4-door and either 4x4 or AWD would push me to the dark side.

I'm on my second Toyota Tundra, and if nothing significant changes on the truck scene, I'll buy a third one when the time comes.
I have the 4X4 with Double Cab, and we love it. We've had the new one (2004) for just under 17 months, and yesterday turned 50,000 miles . We use it a lot. It's smooth, quiet, rides like a car, drives easily, and still looks good enough to get an occasional comment. The only complaint: it's a little tough to park around town. It has a broad turning radius, and it's a bit longer than an average car.
We frequently put in very long days on the road. 700-800 miles per day is not uncommon for us. Driver fatique is just not an issue here. We've even did a thousand-mile day in it once, although I wouldn't advise that in any vehicle.
We have a Snugtop cap on it, and the bed is carpeted.
We love our little truck.

i drive a dodge now for work... dodge ram, 360 gasoline.. beautiful truck! I only ever owned chevy's though... had an 88 step side (style side) lowrider for a while then bought a 79 fleet side 8 foot bed for landscaping, also owned a 77 K5 blazer, 8 inch lift 36 inch tires... god i liked that one, and had a 85 blazer too.

I'd make a reference to power Strokes or Cummins engines here but I'll bite my tongue

Ford for me... Here's mine. Power Stroke diesel, 4x4, all the goodies plus a full back (heated, sleeps 5 and enough food and drinks for a week)...

And she's still running hard at 250,000 miles!250K?!?!?! It looks brand new. My F350 CC Dually, with the "measily" V10 gas engine only has 110K, but it feels like it has another 100K in it at least. The things I tow with it are both under 10,000 pounds, and I don't even tow that often which is why I went for the V10. 250K is quite impressive though, I doubt I will actually ever see 200K with my gas engine, although I'm sure it's been done.
This is the only recent picture I have of it. I need to get a better one:

Chevy and Ford are okay if all you want to do is drive. Otherwise it must be Dodge.

Best selling F series in Aussie was in the eighties I think. Chev & Dodge never even tried.
Fuel nowadays is too pricey.
In a few decades people won't believe these big utes and king cabs etc were ever sold for recreational & private use of a single family.
Here's an Aussie F100 from ebay.

If this truck gives me 500,000 miles I'll be happy. One of the reasons I bought the diesel is because I tow a lot of heavy trailers so it's nice to have lots of extra power. My mileage is around 16 mpg but most of the trailers I pull are at least 10,000 pounds. I also carry 90 gallons of diesel so long hauls aren't much of a problem either, just expensive. My next truck will be a F-650 4x4 Extreme...
I like the red on your truck. I almost, almost bought red but didn't because my buddy has one in red and we have plenty of other things that are the same. Our wives would have really given it to us if our trucks matched too... :D

I love those F-650 Xtremes!!! That's my dream truck. They could pull a house with that Cat diesel which puts out close to 1000 ft lbs at around 1500 rpm. It would take two of Dodge's heavy duty trucks to pull what these things can.
In case anyone hasn't seen an F-650 Xtreme, here is a picture of one.
Who says Fords are just for driving......

Chevy, no doubt about it. Who would buy a Dodge? The name alone tells you to avoid it :)
I actually drive a Nissan Frontier, I couldn't afford the Chevy truck that I really wanted.

What do you do Belmondo? 80K in 2 years? Starting in August my office will be about 100 miles away and that doesn't include the consulting driving between 14 counties! I may come close to your 40K a year on my diesel.
