I busted my speedlight and bought 2 of the Vivitar 285hv and they suck. They don't fire with any regularity and often don't fire at all
Until I can get the Canon fixed, this is unacceptable. I have a wedding this weekend and NEED a reliable flash.
Can anyone recommend something I can buy today? Budget $100-200.
Thank you!

Where are you located? Maybe you can borrow one from someone close by or maybe even rent one from an online rental store. Close to a Calumet Photo store?

I'm in Austin TX. Unfortunately I'm new here and don't know any other photographers close by.

Yikes. There's always built-in flash... anyhow, you've got a PM.
