Hi, I'm hoping someone could explain to me how Canon counts/numbers the lens elements/groupings for their lenses.
For example, the 100-400L 4.5-5.6 is listed as having 17 elements and 14 groups.
Looking at the diagrams they provide on the web, I count 18 elements and 6 groups so Im obviouslly counting something wrong.
So say someone is refering to the 1st group on the zooming lens assembly. Which pieces of glass is this refering to?
