from 28-70L to 24-70L

Do you think it is to upgrade from a 28-70 2.8L to a 24-70 2.8L is a good idea?

depends if you:
a) REALY need the extra wideangle
b) if you think you image quality is not acceptable, which i doubt.

If you were buyine one or the other, then yeah, the 24 is the way to go, but upgrade, unless you want the latest and greatest(dont we all), then the 24 is a KILLER lens, so sharp!

I am quite happy with my 28-70 but I have been told the quality of the 24-70 is even better. I have never tried one so I am asking.

If you want a 2.8 that's wider you are better off selling the 17-40 and getting the 16-35.
