Can lenses be serviced?

That may sound like a daft question to some of you but hey, you've got to start somewhere. So if something gets in your lens, can you get it out again?

Yes, Canon will certainly service their own lenses. I guess other manufacturers have a similar facility.

This mob are supposed to be good: http://www.fixationuk.com/. I've never used them, but seen several recommendations.
