Hi folks. Can anyone tell me if the Canon SX1 has liveview?
I cant see it but want to do some self takes and move around in front of the lens until i get the right distance.
If anyone can please tell me if it has it and how to set it up that would be much appreciated.

Tuttifrutti - You can download an SX1 Manual from Canon and see for yourself, if the LCD screen movements are as you need - Page 13 in that Manual.
Like the SX10 and SX20 - the SX1's screen - I think 2.8" in the SX1 - pulls out, and swings to the left (looking from back of the camera) - it then rotates horizontally until facing forward.
You could use the Timer to do self-portraits, etc. The Defaults are 2-sec - 10-sec or Custom - and you can set it to take 1-10 images on Timer.

Yes, it does. All the PowerShot line of Canons do. It also comes with an IR remote so you can trigger it from your position in front of the camera.

Thanks for your replies folks.
I just cannot get it to work - when I swivel the screen, I can only view myself for about 3 seconds or so and then it goes black. In my old Canon S% IS i'm sure it stayed on all the time so that I could see myself moving about in the screen and could frame myself better.
I'm guessing there's a setting but I could not see it in the manual?
Thanks very much

Can't speak for the SX1, but on the SX20, I can go to the menu, then tools, and change the "display off" setting from 10 seconds to 3 minutes...

How does it behave when you don't reverse the LCD?

Steve thanks for your help mate. I have just stumbled across it in the power down section :)

Glad you got it going. :)
Anything having to do with "auto power down" or "sleep mode" or whatever is the first thing I shut off with any camera.
