View Full Version : My first wedding (sorta)

A friend invited me as a second shooter to an evening beach wedding a couple of weeks ago. We had no off camera lighting and I used only a 70-200 f/2.8 IS. All images processed in Lightroom.

I'd love to get constructive criticism as I have another opportunity to shoot another (free) wedding to further my portfolio in a few weeks.

Oh yes, and I'm fully aware of the power line fiasco in the last shot :)

They look good but I think they could use a bit more contrast. They almost seem a bit washed out

I totally agree. A little bit more contrast would be nice. Could you digitally darken the background? I love that last photo...the sunset is beautiful!

What ISO and shutter speed were you on? Images look blurry/soft/not-sharp.

I'm with dche5390 on this one. With a 70-200 2.8 IS you should be able to take sharper shots then the first one for example. I always aim at the eyes to get my pics sharp. Just a tip. Also adding some black / adjusting shadows would give the pics some more depth.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Contrast was also prior feedback I had received. Regarding blur, I did de-noise and "de-clarify" in Lightroom, but I'm sure they aren't as tack sharp as they could be to begin with.

They look a bit soft to me

I think 6,7 and some work on 8 are your best. Also agree with the contrast, and their being an issue with them being soft.
