The reflections look so sharp! Not even a ripple on the water. I really like the second one and.... all of them, really!
Very nice

Wow! These are really beautiful! My favorites were the second and the fourth, but they are all terrific!

Stunning photos. I suspect these were taken Saturday morning on the group outing... Am I correct?
Nice work.

No none of the were, I didn't get much worth posting from Saturday morning. Too much talk and not enough concentration.

Thanks for the comments, anyone got any pointers for improvements.hehe... doesn't look like you need many pointers with those pics...

the only one that really bothers me is Auckland Skyline from Westhaven.. because of the wide angle distortion... the tower looks like it is a bit tilted to the left.. giving the impression that the horizon is tilted. the buildings on the left side are also tilted.. to the right a bit.

other than that.. not much to fix!! ;)

How would I fix that, I'm using element 3, not PS.

How would I fix that, I'm using element 3, not PS.hehe... if we could all afford full versions of PS.. we would all be happier... ;)

anyway... sorry I didn't specifiy which picture I was referring to.. (there were a couple with the same title..)

Ok.. so.. with my limited experience with PS Elements v2... it depends on where the horizon or center of the subject is. With this example, the horizon - center of the subject... is close to the bottom of the image, so the easiest adjustment would be with the Perspective. Show the Grid, and you can see where the image is.. and what the allignment should be.

In the following images.. you can see the before - after view of the adjustment.

Being able to do this is one reason why I don't hate wide angle shots so much anymore. Fixing stuff like this in a darkroom was a bit more involved... ;)

If the horizon (center of the subject) is more in the middle of the image... there is another possibility which may work.. (also depending on how wide the lens was) in the Filter menu.. called Spherize. Play with that one if you have an image where the top AND bottom of the image is tilted inwards. (I think someone here suggested this method to me a long time ago... so I will pass it on.)

Again.. this is a subjective opinion... but as an end result.. I would be more pleased with my image after this small adjustment.

let me know what you think.

You're welcome.. always happy to be of assistance.. :)

this image was adjusted only a degree or two.. but you do notice a difference, and that's the point.

I did some wide shots of some buildings... and unless I specifically wanted to have the slanted sides and bowed middle (which I didn't).. I would have tossed the files, but with this little adjustment.. I turned them into (relatively) good shots! ;)
