I was recently IN a wedding for a change and was on the other side of the camera for once a long time. We were in Seattle and the photographer did a wonderful job. He shot film.... oh well ; ) but like I said did a great job. After I saw his images I was blown away and was like, "I miss my Velvia film" so off to Google I went to see how to "fake it in PS". I got the answer and I am BLOWN AWAY by the turn outs. If any of you want side by side comparisons of what it did to my images just let me know. I know FM has aplug-in for PS but I thought I would try this technique first.... enjoy!

Are you saying that the wedding photographer used Velvia for film?
I thought the standard wedding film was Portra 400 negative film.

Thats a great point Bob - He told me he was using Velvia because he likes the skin tones it produced. I really can't argue there but, yes, I thought along the same lines as you. Although, I shot Velvia quite a bit myself back in the day. I always had good luck with it. I noticed the biggest differences were in my landscape work using the above tip.

I would use Velvia if I were shooting at the river view in Yosemite Valley, but I would never dream of using it for a wedding.
