Hi Guys,

I need help in installing the softwares that comes with G3 to download images to my PC!!! I have been trying for weeks but I still can't get it to work. IT just keep giving me a 1608: Unable to create installdriver instance ERROR. I am able to install the camara drivers under windows 2000 and when I plug the the G3 into the USB port, the chose register software window appears but there is nothing for me to select. I have ACDC 5.0 and Adobe photoshop installed my system. I have also install the Zoombrower but can't get it to download.

I am using Win2K with a USB 2.0 motherboard. Is there anyone that can help me? Is there any other way to download images to my PC?

A card reader (about $20) will almost always work. It acts like an additional drive, letting you drag and drop files into a folder on your hard drive.

The InstallShield that is used to compile the installer causes this problem. This error occurs when the Microsoft Network Client is not installed under Win2K. To fix it, log in as administrator, then:
1. Right click on the My Network Places icon on the desktop, and select Properties.
2. Right click on the Local Area Connection and select Properties.
3. Click the Install button, and select Client in the dialog box and click Add.
4. Select Client Service for Netware and click OK
5. The Microsoft Network Client is now installed. A prompt asks if you want to install at least one protocol. It's ok to just hit cancel.
6. Restart your computer and try installing the CD again. It should work fine after that.
