I'm curious about parameter settings might be used as presets under a variety of conditions. It was suggested one time with the D30 that I always set sharpness to high, always set saturation to normal, and change the contrast from low to medium to high on sets from 1 to 3.

I'm finding great results from using high resolution jpg's. I know parameters will work on jpg's and non-linear raw images. Isn't it true that pure linear data is uneffected by these parameters? It seems to be the case indicated by the Canon software.

What about color tone? I'm not really sure what effect that has and how that might fit into a standard set of preset parameters. I really like being able to change the parameters right in the camera now though.

I'd like to experiment with this, but I'm asking for direction to form a baseline so I'll have a better idea where to begin. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
